CCH - Congress Center Hamburg - News

CCH Activities

CCH - Congress Center Hamburg was Germany’s first ever dedicated conference centre. That has enabled it to build a wealth of experience in organisation of large medical conferences. In 2008 for example, conferences included those of the German Neurology Society (5,000 delegates), the German Society for Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (5,000 delegates) and the German Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (3,000 delegates).

Another high point in the 2008 calendar at CCH - Congress Center Hamburg was the election for the Hamburg Parliament, where the main broadcasting centre for radio and television coverage of the election was set up at CCH. The Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Volkswagen AG was another special event, with 3,500 participants and an automobile exhibition on more than 7,000 square metres. The traditional Eisbeinessen dinner hosted by the Hamburg Shipbrokers’ Association was held for the 60th time, with 5,400 guests from all parts of the world.

A total of 352 conferences, meetings and other events were held in 2008 (versus 315 in 2007), with a sales volume of 7.6 million euros.
