CCH - Congress Center Hamburg - News
The shareholders of the new company are Hamburg Tourismus GmbH and Hamburg
Messe und Congress GmbH, who between them also provide the management
board. The HCB's objective is to position Hamburg globally as one of the leading
meeting destinations.
For Hamburg, the HCB represents a central point of contact for the meetings,
incentive travel, conferences and events (MICE) sector. “We are pleased to have
created a professional one-stop office that will promote Hamburg in the MICE sector”,
said Dietrich von Albedyll, Managing Director of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH.
Bernd Aufderheide, Managing Director of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH,
added: “The HCB for the first time combines municipal interests with those of the
private-sector partners. That puts us in an excellent position to further develop the
city's great potential.”
Other strategically important local organisations, such as DEHOGA Hamburg e. V.,
the Hamburg branch of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association, along with key
partners from the world of business, are integrated into the HCB through
partnerships. This guarantees an equitable and unified approach that will benefit the
common cause. Hamburg's public-private partnership is modelled on the best
convention bureaus in the world and represents a pioneering step within Germany.
Hamburg Marketing GmbH is linked to the HCB by project-related activities.
The HCB's core business consists of two areas: the Association Clients division is
responsible for researching business events and large conventions relevant to
specific brands or industry clusters and bringing them to Hamburg. The Corporate
Clients division focuses on promoting small and medium-size events that are mainly
held in Hamburg's hotels.
The launch of Hamburg Convention Bureau GmbH will lay the foundation for the
continued successful development of the MICE sector in Hamburg and promote the
city's profile as an international meeting destination.
