International Convention Centre Durban - News
The International Convention Centre Durban together with the Association for French Studies in Southern Africa (AFSSA) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal will host the 13th World Conference of the International Federation of French Teachers in July 2012. This conference will attract around 2000 international delegates which include French researchers, teachers, professionals in the fields of language policy, language planning, publishing, media and representatives of the institutional and political world involved in the promotion and development of French in the world.
A jubilant Professor Mazibuko, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, UKZN hailed this as a victory as this is the first time that this conference is being held in the Southern Hemisphere and on an African continent. The federation holds a world congress every four years and has 70 000 members worldwide.
An elated CEO of ICC Durban Miller Matola expressed his enthusiasm of the announcement and stated that the city of Durban and the ICC Durban looks forward to hosting such an esteemed and illustrious delegation.
