The Adelaide Convention Centre has again been confirmed as one of the meetings industry’s top environmentally sustainable businesses.

For the second consecutive year it has achieved silver EarthCheck certification, performing at ‘above best practice’ in seven key areas of natural resource reduction. Its success in diverting waste from landfill saw it graded 57% above best practice.

The Adelaide Convention Centre has announced the appointment of Woods Bagot Pty Ltd, in association with London based Larry Oltmanns of Vx3 Architects as the design team for its $350 million expansion project. Baulderstone have been appointed as the lead contractor.

The Adelaide Convention Centre provided a sneak preview into the future of how the meetings and events industry might develop as we move towards 2020, in a special event with Adelaide's industry leaders and UK-based futurist, Rohit Talwar.

The intimate session revealed the findings to date of the Convention 2020 study, which began in October 2009 and will be complete in December 2011.
